Located at the northwestern part of Changshu City’s downtown area, it is integrated with the main urban area. As one of Changshu City’s important economic sector, it is a provincial high-tech zone duly established upon the approval by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government in 2017 and is privileged to various preferential policies as a provincial high-tech zone. With an area of 88.93 sq.km and permanent resident population of nearly 170,000, the zone tries to forge a development zone with more stylish appearance, more typical features and higher quality. It actively introduces and cultivates three key industries, i.e., precision equipment, key components of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and new consumption, and constantly promotes enterprises’ new breakthroughs in transformation and upgrading. The zone has gathered many central enterprises such as CCCC Tianhe, CRRC Huateng, China Rare Metals and Rare Earth (Jiangsu), a batch of high-quality local enterprises such as Switchgear MFG and Torindrive, well-known domestic and overseas enterprises such as Automotive Trim (main board listing), Faurecia (Fortune 500) and Rumere. The eastern part of the zone is a commercial and living region, which gathers Wanda business district, Class A tertiary hospital, cultural and sports center, primary and secondary schools, green parks, etc., with complete supporting facilities.
